Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 2026 · Applies to: Cmdly

Cmdly is designed to keep your data private. This policy explains, in plain language, what the app does and does not do with your information. The short version: the app collects nothing about you, and your data never leaves your own devices and personal iCloud account.

Information we collect

We do not collect any personal information. Cmdly has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We do not operate servers that receive your data, and we have no way to see the commands, systems, or any other content you create in the app.

Where your data is stored

Everything you add to the app — your systems, commands, descriptions, tags, and any files you import — is stored locally on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, this data may also sync across your own Apple devices through your private iCloud account, so the same content is available on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

This iCloud sync is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. Your data is stored in your personal iCloud space, which we cannot access. We never receive a copy of it.

CSV imports

When you import a CSV file, the app reads it directly on your device to add the commands it contains. The file's contents are not uploaded anywhere and are not shared with us or any third party.

Third-party services

The app does not embed third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software. The only external service involved is Apple's iCloud, and only if you choose to enable it. When you tap a link in the app — for example, to leave an App Store review or send feedback — your device opens the relevant Apple app or your email client; those interactions are governed by Apple's terms and your own settings.

Children's privacy

Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children. The app is a general-purpose reference tool and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If the app's behavior ever changes in a way that affects your privacy — for instance, if a future version were to add a feature that collects data — this policy will be updated before that feature ships, and the effective date above will change. We encourage you to review this page from time to time.
