How does ParkedTimer work?
Start a parking session by selecting your desired duration. ParkedTimer monitors the time and sends reminders before expiry, giving you peace of mind wherever you park.
How do Smart Duration Suggestions work?
ParkedTimer learns from your previous visits to specific locations and suggests a duration based on your parking history there.
Over time, the app becomes smarter — helping you choose the right duration with less guesswork. Smart Suggestions are available with Pro.
How does the parking alarm work?
ParkedTimer uses AlarmKit (iOS 26+) to deliver a system-level alarm when your parking expires. Unlike regular notifications, this alarm cuts through Silent Mode and Focus filters — so you'll always know when your time is up.
When the alarm fires, you'll see two options: End Parking to finish your session, or Extend to open the app and add more time.
What is the Live Activity countdown?
When a parking session is active, a live countdown appears on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. You can see exactly how much time remains at a glance — no need to open the app.
How does the car progress bar work?
When a parking session is active, a car illustration fills from left to right in red as your time elapses. When the car is fully red, your parking has expired. It gives you an instant visual sense of how much time remains.

Location Services
ParkedTimer uses your location to save where you parked, provide directions back to your vehicle, and offer smart duration suggestions at familiar locations.
To enable location access:
- Open Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services
- Select ParkedTimer
- Choose While Using the App
Your location is never tracked in the background and is not shared with third parties.
Notifications & Alarms
ParkedTimer uses two layers of alerts to make sure you never miss your parking expiry:
Reminder notifications are sent at regular intervals before your parking expires:
- 15 min
- 10 min
- 5 min
- 1 min
Parking alarm (iOS 26+) fires at the exact moment your parking expires. This is a system-level alarm powered by AlarmKit — it cuts through Silent Mode and Focus, so you'll always hear it.
To ensure reminders and alarms are delivered:
- Go to Settings → Notifications → ParkedTimer
- Turn on Allow Notifications
- Enable Lock Screen, Banners, and Sounds
- When prompted, allow Alarm permissions for ParkedTimer
If alarm permission is denied, ParkedTimer falls back to a standard notification at expiry.
Apple Watch
Parking reminders and the expiry alarm are mirrored to your Apple Watch — so even if your iPhone is in your pocket, you'll feel the alert on your wrist. Ensure notifications for ParkedTimer are enabled in the Watch app → Notifications.
ParkedTimer does not track you. Location is used solely to help you return to your parked car and to provide intelligent duration suggestions. Your parking history and data remain on your device.
